<image:caption>Counselor Hi! My name is Kati Krogman, and I have completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an emphasis in trauma from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary in 2020. I believe that each person’s story is unique and that change occurs in a supportive, empathetic environment where someone is attentive and walking alongside you. With empathy and kindness, I use a trauma-informed narrative approach to first hear your story, followed by a strengths-based approach to empower you to experience success.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Relationships are work. There is no doubt about that. When we do not give relationships consistent attention they start to fall apart. Sometimes slowly. Sometimes with rapid speed. Both leaving two people feeling lost. We are passionate about couples therapy and marriage counseling for healthy relationships. We are confident we can share tools to get you back on track. Often times after marriage counseling or couples therapy everyone feels more connected than ever before.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Our counselors have advanced training on how the brain and body respond to and hold onto the effects of trauma. Our team understands how trauma can have a lasting impact on people’s perspective, relationships, life story, daily functioning and how its effects can lead to feelings of extreme depression and anxiety as well as being misunderstood by people in your life, misdiagnosed by professionals, or even medically mismanaged.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Focus - FM - Depression</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s a guarantee that sometime in your life you will go through difficult times, and you might not feel as happy as you normally do, as happy as you’d like to be. You might accept this as a normal reaction to disappointment or loss, but if those negative feelings linger and begin to get in the way of your life, it’s time to reach out to one of the caring professionals. We understand that problems with your mood might prevent you from realizing that hope is accessible, especially if you’ve never met with a counselor in the past. That’s why we exist. We want you to find the help you need without the hassle of having to wait weeks for your first session, only to find out that the person you’re meeting with isn’t the best suited to address your concerns. You are not alone in this. Millions of Americans deal with depression on a daily basis, and while this may seem like a grim reality, know that many people have experienced relief from these feelings through meeting with a well-equipped counselor.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Focus - FM - Infidelity</image:title>
<image:caption>After the devastating disclosure of infidelity, intense emotions and recurrent crises are the norm. The good news, however, is that the majority of relationships not only survive infidelity, but marriage and family therapists have observed that many marriages can become stronger and more intimate after couples therapy. Infidelity is one of the most common presenting problems for marriage and family therapists. It is devastating to relationships and can be one of the more difficult problems to treat. While the majority of couples disapprove of infidelity, some national surveys indicate that 15% of women and 25% of men have experienced intercourse outside of their long-term relationship. And, by including emotional and sexual intimacies without intercourse, these percentages increase by 20%.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Focus - FM - Pornography Addiction</image:title>
<image:caption>Addiction to pornography can be one of the most difficult addictions to overcome. With point and click availability on the internet, many people have fallen into the habit of viewing pornography on a frequent basis. Christian Counseling Associates provides resources to help end pornography use and restore the person to victorious living. Pornography is sexually explicit material that dehumanizes, objectifies, and degrades men and women for the purpose of sexual arousal. Usually it is photos or videos; sometimes it takes the form of stories or comic book drawings.</image:caption>
